Alcohol and other drugs turn off the good-reasoning part of our brains, so make a plan to get home first: Don't Drive Then Drink!
Always make a plan for how you will get to a bar, a sporting event, or a concert… and then back home again safely before you even leave your home. If you don’t drive yourself out, you will never make a bad choice about driving yourself back in, after you have had a few drinks.
A safe plan can be as simple as picking a designated driver for your group before you head out. You can grab a cab, Lyft, or Uber to go to your destination and then back home. If it’s possible, just walk.
We understand sometimes even a great plan can come unraveled, and when that happens, you should grab a SafeRide home! The SafeRide program, sponsored by the Tavern League of Wisconsin, provides a FREE ride home for patrons who may be unsafe to drive themselves. Last year the Tavern League provided 91,000 SafeRides to their patrons.
We are partnering with the Kenosha City chapter of the Tavern League of Wisconsin to promote the SafeRide program over the St. Patrick’s Day season. The “Don’t Push Your Luck!” campaign’s goal is to highlight Tavern League of Wisconsin’s SafeRide program and to encourage both patrons and servers to use the service.
KCSAC will send a $10 gas card to PATRONS AND SERVERS who use the SafeRide program between March 12 and March 21, 2021!
Here’s how it works:
- The server at participating SafeRide establishment orders a SafeRide for a qualifying patron or group, and documents it.
Locate SafeRide Participants - Patron or group arrives home safely.
- The Tavern League gathers the report information of SafeRides ordered.
- KCSAC receives data for SafeRides between March 12 and March 21, 2021, and sends $10 gas cards to patrons and the servers who placed the order, while supplies last. Please note, the process may take up to 4 weeks to complete.
Remember to make a plan to go out and get back safely. The best plan is Don’t Drive, Then Drink. But if things don't go as planned - Don’t Push Your Luck!
There are safe and FREE options available to you to get home without driving under the influence.
